Powerboat Handling Instruction

Who could benefit?

  • A first time boat owner.
  • Captain/Crew moving to a new or larger boat.
  • A spouse wanting to learn more about boat handling and emergency procedures.
  • A teen holding a drivers license, hoping to “borrow” your boat, slightly different than borrowing the car!

This course is customizable to include any of the following topics:

  • Emergency Procedures
  • Rules of the Road
  • Knots and Line Handling
  • Basic Pre-Cruise Inspection
  • Start-up Procedures
  • Leaving the Dock
  • Wind, Waves & Currents
  • Anchoring
  • Docking
  • Shutdown Procedures

Suggested class time: At a minimum two hours, depending on skill level, 2 sessions. All classes are held on your boat.
