U.S. Captain's Training
Captain Sue is an instructor for the US Captain’s Training. The courses are taught in sessions that last ten days. Eight and one half of the days cover Rules of the Road, General Navigation, Chart Navigation, and Deck General and Safety. The last one and one half days are for testing and retesting if need be. Once you have completed the required hours of class time and passed the USCG approved exam modules that US Captain’s Training administers, you will be issued a Certificate of Training that is valid for one year from the time class ends. Presenting this Certificate of Training to the USCG satisfies the examination requirements of 46 CFR 10.205(i) so you will not be required to take the examinations at the Regional Examination Center (REC).
